University of Ghent

Ghent University is a top 100 university and one of the major universities in Belgium. Its 11 faculties offer a wide range of courses and conduct in-depth research within a wide range of scientific domains. We are also the first European university in the Songdo Global University Campus in South Korea. The university provides excellent R&D opportunities to both young and experienced researchers, and awarded 660 PhD degrees in 2015 of which over 30% went to international young researchers. The university is one of the fastest growing European universities in terms of research capacity and productivity.

Supramolecular Chemistry Group

The Supramolecular Chemistry group is part of the Centre of Macromolecular Chemistry (CMaC; www.cmac.ugent.be) that aims to develop the next generation materials ‘through deep understanding of advanced macromolecular chemistry’. The research of the Supramolecular Chemistry Group aims to develop well-defined synthetic polymeric structures with controlled ordering and/or self-assembly resulting in adaptive functional materials. These goals are achieved using advanced synthetic methods, including organic chemistry as well as living and controlled polymerization techniques. In addition, state-of-the-art analytical tools are available for structural as well as property investigations of the materials.
